Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born South London, England into a family of mixed blood. She has a father who is Nigerian and Swiss and the mother of her is English. She was a student at The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned the BA in acting. During her time at the academy, she performed in numerous stage productions such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting career started in the series Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film came from that of the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. The film's success led her to play Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in the six-episode series Trexx & Flipside as Ollie. In 2008, she was cast as Bambi as the main character on ITV2's comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe appeared in the comedy How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). Her credits in theatre comprise Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe was chosen to play Ashley Davenport on the ABC Drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just two weeks on The CW and then it was cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe's departure from the series was officially announced in May of 2013. After a period of two years as the main character she made a guest performance in the opening episode of season three. From 2014 to the year 2016, she appeared on Salem in the role of Tituba. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. They've worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also played a part with her on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for the Gemini Award, hails from an extensive Hamilton family. She was raised by both parents Roy and Patty along with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley grew in arenas or baseball parks since her brothers, who were all athletic, played hockey and baseball and basketball in summer and winter. Ashley didn't walk, instead she danced. At age two and half, she found Baby Ballet. Ashley began to be a dancer following this. Ashley was a top competitor in divisions for jazz, tap hip-hop, ballet lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe, until she finished high school. Top soloists at important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which were all given to Ashley.
